Outstanding People, Great Culture: CarShop Wins 2026 Top Workplaces Awards

Published on Jun 24, 2026 by CarShop

CarShop has been named a 2026 Top Workplaces winner by both NJ Advance Media and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

And it wasn't the publications that chose to honor us. It was our own team.

That's right. The Top Workplace award is determined entirely by confidential employee feedback from a third-party survey sent directly to employees. No executive input. No self-nomination. Just honest responses from the people who show up every day and make CarShop what it is.

What "Top Workplace" Actually Means

The survey examines whether people feel genuinely respected and supported, whether they have real opportunities to grow, and whether they feel empowered to do meaningful work.

At CarShop, these ideas aren't lofty goals. They're the foundation of how we operate, from the no-commission, no-haggle experience our customers feel, to the culture our team experiences every day.

Hear It From the People Who Work Here

We could talk about our culture all day, but we think our team says it best, so let's hear from them:

Michael Henderson, Sales Consultant, came to CarShop from a background in teaching and coaching: "Here, I've grown both personally and professionally in a supportive environment that promotes success, and for that, I couldn't be more grateful."

Carleigh Zepp, Finance Manager, joined as a Delivery Coordinator in 2017 and hasn't stopped moving: "I've worn many different hats — and every role has taught me something new and helped me grow both personally and professionally. No two days are the same, and that's exactly what keeps me excited to come to work."

Stephen Bodnar, General Sales Manager, found CarShop on Glassdoor and was skeptical of what he read: "I read associates' testimonials about 'having fun at work' — at the time, I thought it was an exaggeration. Until I accepted a position and experienced it firsthand."
These folks aren't exaggerating, and they're not outliers. Every CarShop team, from service and reconditioning to sales to finance to inventory, sounds like this.

Built on Values That Show Up Daily

The culture our team describes doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of values CarShop has lived by for decades:

  • Integrity. A commitment to honest, ethical conduct on all fronts.
  • Caring for One Another. Treating every person with genuine dignity and respect.
  • Innovation. Good ideas are welcome from anywhere in the organization.
  • Mutual Accountability. Owning your work and supporting the people around you.
  • Passion for Success. A drive to exceed expectations and keep raising the bar.
  • Fair and Equitable. Making decisions that consider every perspective in the room.
  • Opportunity Through Growth. Investing in people so they can build real careers here.

Those values show up in the way we stand behind the vehicles we sell, the way we treat every service customer, and the way we treat every person on our team.

Thinking About Joining Us?

Here's something that surprises a lot of people: many open roles at CarShop don't require prior automotive experience. What matters is attitude, integrity, and a genuine interest in growing. The rest, we can teach.

New Jersey and Philadelphia, we're honored to be among your top places to work.

And we're always looking for great people to join us.
